Far UV-C, is it really safe?

In recent years, there has been talk about the potential use of UV-C equipment emitting 222nm (referred to as Far UV-C) being used as a ‘safe’ solution with no harm to humans. So far, there is not enough evidence to support this claim, and it’s not something we would entertain without more research being done.

In addition, under The Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010, you would still exceed the legal limits (200 – 250 J/m2) within a short period of time. So regardless of whether or not it would cause any adverse health affects, any workplace would be committing a regulatory offence by exposing workers and for commercial uses, the general public, to this wavelength for a particular amount of time.
